ABOUT THE NAME 451 451 Fahrenheit degrees is the approximate temperature at which text paper ignites. The great author, Ray Bradbury, wrote a whole book about it A flashpoint - the marking of
a moment of transformation - is what was of interest to us when we selected
451 as our company name. Ideas and solutions are the foundation
of good design and compelling communication. We experience creative process
as intense, concentrated effort, studied consideration that chases the
moment when the light goes on, when chaos reveals an order, when an idea
becomes a strategy. It is our goal to find that moment and celebrate it with our clients, our students, our colleagues.451 is managed and was founded by partners Amy Jones and Dina Pielaet. DINA PIELAET Art Director
- has owned and operated design firms for over 18 years. She is a Macromedia
new products beta-tester, conference speaker, lynda.com instructor, and
consultant. She is Italian, Puerto Rican, French, and Dutch in equal parts
and comes from a family of 13 children in which she numbers 3. Therefore
she is a super-human multi-tasker, an extraordinary politician, is clairvoyantly
resourceful, a visionary, and a salt-of-the-earth personable individual.
She plays the viola and tenor sax. Dina Pielaet has contributed
to the following lynda.com products: AMY JONES Writer/Conceptualist
and Project Manager. Amy began writing web sites and advertising/informational
copy while finishing her Masters Degree in Critical Studies and Fine Art
at CALARTs (aka the Disney School). Her background comprises a vast collection
of projects ranging from gallery shows, performance installations, books,
readings, commercial and non-profit publication projects, arts management,
writing workshops, and recordings. Her very personality is concept and
project driven, and the partnership with Dina Pielaet is a perfect compliment
to both skill sets. As a project manager, she is extremely capable of
inhabiting both the reality of business communications with its need for
targeted reason, deadlines and detail as well as the experimental kitchen
of concept cooking that is the heart of creative process. She is French, Scottish, Welsh, German, and Irish in equal parts and is the eldest of a two-child family. She possesses the capacity to surprise even her closest friends with her ability to be almost maddeningly exacting and ecstatically funny within seconds of each other. She attempts to play the concertina. Back to top portfolio | consultation | PROFILE | home | client log-in | contact 451 |
